“The Holocaust”
by Art Sadlier
April 24th, 2011

The magnitude and horror of Hitler’s holocaust is just as shocking and disturbing today as it was 80 years ago. Six million Jews, almost the size of the present day population of Israel, were brutalized and slaughtered in a satanic act of defiance of God.

In remarks at the opening ceremony of Holocaust Memorial Day on the evening of May 1, 2011, at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, both Israeli President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed Iranian nuclear aspirations as an existential threat to Israel. "Even after the Holocaust occurred, there still exists today a regime whose leaders are Holocaust deniers and open Holocaust promoters," Peres said of Iran, singling out its leadership as "a danger to the whole world, not only to Israel."

Netanyahu, in his address said, "When someone says they want to eradicate us, we must take them seriously," referring in one sentence to Iran, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Hamas in the Gaza Strip as his country's sworn foes.

"Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas are working openly for the destruction of our people," Netanyahu warned.

"We cannot place our fate in the hands of others," he stressed, echoing Peres' word of self-reliance, and said that, "When Israel and the Israel Defence Forces say, 'Never Again,' they mean precisely that." As you listen to the words of Netanyahu you come away with feeling that Israel is preparing to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.

We have seen almost unbelievable changes in the Mideast scenario in recent weeks. The world situation has been turned upon its head in the last few years. The impossible and unexpected has happened. Quickly the scenarios are changing like a slide show.

We have watched for the last fifty years as painfully and slowly the stage has been set for the wind-up of man’s day. Now we have reached the point where with lightning flashes and rolls of thunder the final props are being put in place.

Today the holocaust seems to have come full circle with Iran intent on destroying another six million Jews. This will not happen at this time according to the prophetic scriptures. We know how the Lord will deal with Israel in the coming days; He will deal severely with them to bring them back to Himself.

Will Israel attack Iran prior to the war of Psalm 83? How will The Lord delay Iran’s assault on Israel until the war of Ezekiel 38-39?  What will happen next? Will the rapture take place before the war of Psalm 83?

We have the clear outline of the end time events, but we do not have all of the twists and turns that will lead to the final cataclysmic working out of God’s plans and purposes.

Whatever else may be unclear, we have a deep assurance that we will soon be going to our eternal heavenly home.

I know not in what watch He comes, Or at what hour He may appear, whether at midnight or at morn, Or in what season of the year: I only know that He is near.

A shout! A trumpet note! A glorious presence in the azure sky! A gasp, a thrill of joy, and we are with Him in the twinkling of an eye!

Will you meet me in the air, when the reaping day shall come? Will you greet me over there in the joyful harvest home? Christ will draw us to His side, That with Him we may abide, will you meet me in the air?

A glance? An upward look! Caught up to be with Christ forevermore! The dead alive! The living glorified! Fulfilled are all His promises that came before!

I do not think it can be long till in His glory He appear; And yet I dare not fix the solemn advent year; I only know that He is near.
