“The Nations Continue to Defy God”
by Art Sadlier
August 29th, 2010

The following INN item demonstrates the folly of the nations that would seek to interfere with God’s dealings with His people Israel. We see the pride and arrogance of man as he sees himself as a god in the place of the true and living God.

(Quote) U.S. President Barack Obama announced Wednesday afternoon he is optimistic his team would succeed in jumpstarting direct talks aimed at ending Israel’s “occupation” and leading to formation of a new Palestinian Authority country.

Obama acknowledged the task would not be easy. “After all, there’s a reason that the two-state solution has eluded previous generations,” he said.

Nevertheless, Obama remains convinced that his administration will be able to announce a final status agreement between Israel and the PA within a year.

“These will be direct negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians. These negotiations are intended to resolve all final status issues," Obama stated firmly. "The goal is a settlement negotiated between the parties, that ends the occupation which began in 1967 and results in the emergence of an independent, democratic and viable Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with a Jewish state of Israel and its other neighbours. That’s the vision we are pursuing.” (End quote)

We see the nations continue to defy God and His Word concerning Israel. This is the setup for Armageddon, "I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land." Joel 3:2. God will have the last word; He will judge the nations that defy Him.

Listen to the Word of God. "But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:  A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year." Deuteronomy 11:11-12.

"For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein." Deuteronomy 11:31.

"When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of anything, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:  I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.  And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you." Deuteronomy 4:25-27.

"Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.  Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, and shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD."  Ezekiel 37:11-14.

The Lord is now in the process of resurrecting His people Israel. He has brought them back to the land He has promised to them. He will yet chasten them but He will also revive them spiritually and fulfill all the promised blessings to them. In the meantime woe betides those men and nations that seek to prevent Israel from God's purpose!
