“The Egyptian Revolution”
by Art Sadlier
February 13th, 2011

Long before the revolution in Egypt, Christians were being persecuted in Egypt.  The regime of Hosni Mubarak was not favourable to Christians but at least they made an effort to restrain terrorists and restrain Islamic radicals.

A change has come. The Egyptian army has attacked a Coptic monastery near Cairo and St. Makarios monastery near Alexandria with tanks and guns. Islamic law states that new churches and synagogues cannot be built nor old ones repaired. The reason is obvious, Islam is committed to eliminate all religions other than Islam. These Coptic Christians had built walls around their churches to protect them from Islamic attacks. Now the army has validated Islamic law by tearing these walls down.

It is apparent that the army is determined to gain the favour of the 95% Muslim majority in Egypt. During the demonstrations in Tahrir Square a crowd of two million Egyptians were caught on a You Tube Video chanting, “To Jerusalem we are heading, martyrs by the millions.” Western governments and the Western media are determined to paint the change in Egypt as a move toward democracy. It is obvious to any thinking person that in Egypt, a majority rule will translate into Muslim rule. That Muslim rule will be radical if the majority of Egyptians have their way.

The restraints of Hosni Mubarak are now gone and Christians will flee Egypt or suffer terrible persecution. It seems that Muslim extremism is soon to sweep over all of the Mideast. The same pattern is evident in Tunisia where the masses of demonstrators were chanting, “Kill Jews.”

The desperate Western nations are whistling in the dark when they talk about democracy in the Mideast. They are either ignorant or foolish in their vain hope.
